Thanksgiving Holiday Closures Announced for Georgetown, Texas

Thanksgiving Holiday Closures in Georgetown, Texas

As Thanksgiving approaches, the city of Georgetown, Texas, is gearing up for a well-deserved break! In recognition of this special holiday, all city offices and facilities will be closed on Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29. This gives city employees a chance to enjoy festivities with family and friends, which is something we can all appreciate.

What’s Closed?

Throughout this short holiday period, several key city-run facilities will be unavailable. This includes city offices, which will not open their doors until Monday, December 2. Additionally, the GoGeo Paratransit Bus Service will also take a break, meaning there will be no service on both Thursday and Friday.

It’s also important to remember that solid waste and recycling collection will be affected by the holiday. Specifically, there will be no trash or recycling pickups for Texas Disposal Systems customers on Thanksgiving Day itself, November 28. If you usually have your trash collected on Thursdays, don’t worry! The collection schedule will simply shift by a day. This means that if Thursday was your scheduled pickup, you can set your solid waste and recycling carts out by 7 a.m. on the new pickup day, which will be the Friday following Thanksgiving.

Need More Information?

If you have any questions about garbage collection or need additional details, you can reach out to Texas Disposal Systems at 512-930-1715. They’ll be more than happy to assist you!

Events to Enjoy

In the spirit of the holiday season, Georgetown has some exciting events lined up for the week and weekend of Thanksgiving. While gearing up for family gatherings and meals, consider checking out local festivities that can make your holiday even more special. There’s bound to be something happening around town, so keep your eyes peeled for activities that suit your interests!

Don’t Forget to Give Thanks

As we all take a break to enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday, it’s essential to remember what we’re thankful for. The closure of city facilities reminds us to take a step back and appreciate the little things, whether it’s delicious food, the company of loved ones, or the community events that bring us closer. This year, make sure to take time to relax, enjoy a nice meal, and maybe even volunteer to give back to your community if you can.

Mark your calendars and prepare for a peaceful and joyous Thanksgiving in Georgetown. Remember to remind friends and family about the holiday closures so everyone is informed. Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with happiness and good cheer!
