What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that the ASU SBDC is the first in Texas to land this award in its category! Talk about making waves! The stellar team over at the SBDC has achieved some jaw-dropping results in supporting our local economy.

This fabulous crew has accomplished an astonishing 164% of its goal for total clients counseled! This isn’t just about guiding a few people; they are downright smashing their targets! Plus, they’ve supported a phenomenal 152% of their goal for business start-ups and expansions, showcasing their knack for igniting entrepreneurial dreams.

Creating Jobs and Boosting the Economy

The job market in San Angelo is clearly on the upswing, thanks to the SBDC’s hard work. They have created and retained an impressive 390 jobs, surpassing their goal by an astounding 140%. That’s not all—the SBDC has generated over $6.75 million for our local economy, hitting 150% of their target. That’s a ton of cash circulating in our neighborhoods!

Learning and Growing Together

Education is at the heart of success, and the SBDC shines in this aspect. They put together a whopping 113 training events and seminars that welcomed over 1,900 attendees. This shows a tremendous commitment to local entrepreneurship, hitting an impressive 193% of their goal achieved. Their offering of 141 training events overall shows they mean business—literally!

Since its inception in 1990, the ASU SBDC has been serving a ten-county region with an enthusiastic team. A dedicated five-person staff, along with three ASU graduate students, is devoted to providing top-notch business advising and training. Their focus usually revolves around vital areas like planning, financing, marketing, and management—everything budding business owners need to succeed!

Located in the Business Resource Center downtown, they are proudly part of the Texas South-West SBDC Network. The blend of graduate business students adds an exciting twist, offering them valuable real-world experience while serving the community!

For the aspiring business owners out there, ASU has something thrilling up its sleeve with its annual BizPitch entrepreneurship contest. Students from various majors can take part and compete for handsome prize money meant to help jumpstart their creative business ideas!
