Hey there, Austin! Are you feeling the excitement for the upcoming 14th annual Puppy Bowl? This beloved community event is set to take place on Saturday, February 6, and while it may look a little different this year, it promises to bring just as much joy and entertainment!
Due to current circumstances, the Puppy Bowl will go virtual for the very first time. But don’t worry! You can still catch all the action from the comfort of your home. Starting bright and early at 9 a.m., followers can tune into the Austin Humane Society’s Facebook page for live updates and sneak peeks of all the fuzzy fun to come.
The main event gets underway at 11:30 a.m., featuring some adorable pooches competing in the exciting MVP Races. These talented pups aren’t just there to play. They’ll even take a shot at making some Super Bowl predictions – who knew pups could be little fortune-tellers?
And what would a bowl be without some entertainment? This year, there will be a special kitty halftime show, so get ready for some paws-itively adorable feline performances! Plus, there will be an induction ceremony for the Puppy Bowl Hall of Fame, giving our furry friends the recognition they deserve.
If you’re looking to test your knowledge of all things pup-related, two live virtual trivia events are on tap. The Pre-Game Trivia kicks off at 10 a.m., followed by the Trivia Tailgate at 4 p.m.. To take part in these trivia challenges, a small donation of $15 for a ticket will secure your spot. All proceeds will help our furry friends at the shelter.
But wait, there’s more! For just a $5 donation, you can also help name the quarterbacks for each puppy team. It’s a fun way to get involved and support the cause!
Looking to snap some pics with your furry pals? Head over to Yard Bar, the fantastic outdoor dog park and restaurant, where a special photo opportunity will be available from 12-4 p.m. Reservations are a must, and part of the proceeds from this event will go straight to the Austin Humane Society. You can even indulge in a VIP experience for $35 – perfect for all the “Very Important Puppy-fans” out there!
Dine in style at the modified Tailgate Food Competition, which has transitioned into a curbside program this year. Local restaurants and food trucks will be serving up special Puppy Bowl menu items and donating a portion of their sales back to the Austin Humane Society. You get to chow down while supporting furry friends in need – win-win!
The Austin Humane Society is the oldest No-Kill, non-profit animal adoption shelter in the city, dedicated to saving and caring for homeless cats and dogs in our community. They’re doing amazing work, and every little bit helps. If you’re curious about adoptable animals or programs, check out their website for more information!
So, mark your calendars, spread the word, and get ready for an unforgettable virtual Puppy Bowl this February. It’s time to have some fun while helping out a great cause! For more details, don’t hesitate to visit their site or give them a call. Let’s make this year’s Puppy Bowl one to remember!
