The lively atmosphere inside Einstein Bros. Bagels, where students and locals can enjoy delicious bagels and coffee.
On March 21, 2025, Einstein Bros. Bagels officially opened its new location in Georgetown, offering a variety of bagels, sandwiches, and coffee. The initiative responds to student needs and aims to enhance campus dining options, with a meal swipe program encouraging students to enjoy the array of delicious offerings. As community support grows, there is hope for more diverse dining options around campus, enhancing the local food scene.
Georgetown just got a lot tastier! On March 21, 2025, the beloved bagel haven, Einstein Bros. Bagels, officially opened its doors in the heart of Georgetown. This new spot is set to become a go-to hangout for students and locals alike, offering an array of delicious bagels, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, and of course, a selection of delightful coffee beverages.
The opening of Einstein Bros. is more than just another restaurant launch; it’s a response to student needs and the changing dynamics of campus life. A significant push for this initiative came from GUSA senator-at-large Abby Cooner, who has been actively involved in representing student interests. As the co-chair of GUSA’s food subcommittee, Cooner recognized a real need for more dining options, especially for upperclassmen on campus.
Cooner and fellow GUSA member Sam Grecko reached out to the auxiliary services to discuss how switching up the dining scene could better cater to students, encouraging them to invest in meal plans. They believed that providing more options could enhance students’ experiences, and thus the idea to allow meal swipes to be used at Einstein Bros. was born!
This program at Einstein Bros. is designed to be a trial run. The goal is to see how students utilize the meal swipes and gauge their interest in this new offering. The administration has been genuinely open to student feedback, showcasing how vital student voices are in refining dining options and services on campus.
Depending on the interest and usage seen at Einstein Bros., there’s a real possibility this meal swipe program could expand to include other trendy eateries around campus. It’s all about bringing more variety to student meals and making campus life that little bit easier and more flavorful!
In her efforts to bring more options and improve campus life, Cooner has ambitions that stretch beyond just one new restaurant. She aims to amplify student voices in crucial funding decisions via the Finance and Appropriations Committee. By focusing on inclusion, she hopes to ensure that the needs of all students are heard and considered.
Diving into the nuts and bolts of GUSA, Cooner made a point of engaging with students at freshman dorms. With 17 candidates battling it out in each district during the campaign, she was determined to understand the issues directly from the ground up. It was her participation in the Leadership and Beyond pre-orientation program that fueled her passion for GUSA and the transformation of student life.
If you haven’t had the pleasure of munching on an Einstein bagel yet, you’re in for a treat! Imagine the warm, soft goodness of freshly baked bagels, paired perfectly with a variety of sumptuous spreads, all designed to start your day off right. Add to that a selection of tasty breakfast and lunch sandwiches, plus the rich aroma of coffee wafting through the air, and it’s clear why this spot is generating so much buzz.
As the community braces for what’s sure to be a culinary adventure, the excitement surrounding Einstein Bros. Bagels’ new Georgetown location is just the beginning. With the prospect of more dining options on the horizon, students and residents alike can look forward to a more vibrant food scene that caters to diverse tastes and preferences.
