Exciting Plans Unfold in Georgetown for Local Kids!

Georgetown, TX — This holiday season, Georgetown is buzzing with excitement as City Church Georgetown, in collaboration with Bikes for Goodness Sake and Cooper Elementary School, gears up for a heartwarming initiative known as the City Church Big Giveaway & Bike Build Event. This fantastic event is designed to spread joy and adventure to 49 enthusiastic third and fourth graders from Cooper Elementary, and it’s certainly creating a buzz in the community!

What is the Big Giveaway & Bike Build Event?

The Big Giveaway & Bike Build Event is not just about giving away bicycles; it’s an opportunity for families, volunteers, and community members to join together in an act of kindness and generosity. The day promises to be filled with laughter, teamwork, and memorable experiences as participants assemble bicycles that will soon become cherished gifts for local children.

What’s more, every child who receives a bike will be treated to important lessons on bike safety and road safety. It’s not just about the thrill of having a new set of wheels; safety comes first! For those little ones who are still learning the ropes, there will be how-to-ride-a-bike training sessions to ensure they go home feeling confident and ready to zoom around their neighborhoods.

Community Support Shines Bright

Brett Levy, the Lead Pastor of City Church Georgetown, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, saying, “Christmas is a time where we see the generosity of God, and the church should be a reflection of that generosity. Plus, serving families is fun and you can’t beat that!” His words perfectly capture the spirit of the season and the essence of this inspiring community event.

Adding to the enthusiasm, Tamra Marbibi, the Director of Federal and Special Programs Supports in Georgetown ISD, remarked on the importance of this initiative. “This initiative is a wonderful example of community collaboration. Providing our students with bicycles not only brings joy but also promotes physical activity and independence,” she noted with a smile. Tamra highlighted the significant role that local partnerships play in enriching the lives of students.

Spreading Love Through Bicycles

Kenna Smith, Managing Director of Bikes for Goodness Sake, also shared her thoughts about the event, saying, “It is incredibly rewarding for us to be able to partner with City Church Georgetown and Cooper Elementary School for this special event right here in our local community.” Kenna emphasized their mission of sharing the love of biking with youth everywhere and expressed gratitude for having the chance to give back in their hometown.

Join the Fun!

The Big Giveaway & Bike Build Event stands as a shining example of how communities can come together to make a difference. It’s a reminder that the spirit of Christmas lies not only in receiving but also in giving, sharing, and spreading joy. This holiday season, let’s all channel our inner holiday spirit and consider ways to give back to our community, following the beautiful example set forth by this event.
