After attending Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, where she first met her future husband, Robert D. Tennison, in Spanish class, Suzanne went on to study at the University of Minnesota, graduating with a degree in _Elementary Education_. This foundation would fuel her lifelong commitment to teaching and nurturing young minds.

For almost seventy years, Suzanne was a devoted partner to Bob, and together they forged a wonderful family. They raised three children—Jenelle, Kari, and Blake—who together with their spouses created a legacy that includes eleven grandchildren and an impressive 27 great-grandchildren. Family was everything to Suzanne, and her heart was filled with love for each member of her large family.

Travel was a thrilling part of Suzanne’s life. She and Bob explored various parts of the world, frequently sharing the exhilarating tales of their adventures on the QEII, along with journeys through breathtaking locales in Europe and North America. They even had a charming condo in Breckenridge, Colorado, which became a treasured family retreat during the 1970s. While residing in England, Suzanne proudly drove her Mini Cooper, all while hunting for unique collectibles. Her adventurous spirit was contagious and she inspired others to embrace life fully.

Beyond her family and travels, Suzanne had a vibrant career in education. She was known for her excellent swimming skills and passed her passion for swimming on to countless students, instilling in them a love for the water that had shaped her own early years. Throughout her long teaching career, she dedicated herself to her students, ensuring they received the best education possible. Suzanne’s contributions to education were not only limited to the classroom; she was also greatly involved in her local and broader communities.

As a dedicated member of the P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) for over 50 years, Suzanne had an unwavering commitment to education and women’s advancement. She was not just an advocate for education; she also volunteered extensively as a docent in museums and participated in various community events enriching lives around her.

Alongside her nurturing spirit, Suzanne was an avid collector. Her impressive collection of blue glass and miniatures is a testament to her artistry and attention to detail. She was known to frequent collector sales, garage sales, and antique events, always on the lookout for something special to add to her collection. Many of her preserved dioramas were built to museum-quality standards, showcasing her exceptional eye for art and history.

The family plans to honor Suzanne’s remarkable life on February 9th in Georgetown, Texas, at The Delaney Georgetown.
