Georgetown, a city that’s been bursting at the seams with growth, is stepping up its game in healthcare! With the population skyrocketing, local healthcare providers are expanding to meet the demands of a bustling community. So what’s the scoop on the latest changes? Let’s dive in!
First off, Georgetown boasts four primary care providers working hard to keep residents healthy: Lone Star Circle of Care, Ascension, Baylor Scott & White, and St. David’s Hospital Georgetown. Each of these organizations plays a pivotal role in offering diverse healthcare services, making sure your needs are covered no matter what.
Lone Star Circle of Care is a beacon of hope in the community, extending its services to areas like Round Rock, Hutto, and Cedar Park. This organization covers a wide array of services, including behavioral care, family medicine, and pediatrics. Their dedication to easy access to healthcare just got better with the introduction of the improved mobile mammography service known as the Big Pink Bus in February 2024. This initiative offers low-cost or even free breast cancer screenings, ensuring that the importance of preventive care is never overlooked.
In addition, Lone Star Circle of Care has recently enhanced its operations by adopting the athenaOne electronic health record and management system, which is set to improve patient engagement and clinical outcomes. This means that patients can expect a smoother, more efficient healthcare experience!
Meanwhile, Ascension Seton is equally committed to making a difference. They opened a brand new special care facility in August 2024, nestled in the Wolf Ranch area. This facility brings specialized services under one roof, including dermatology, surgery, and orthopedics. It’s a fantastic addition for locals looking for convenience and expertise in their medical care.
Lifting the healthcare bar further, Baylor Scott & White has made significant strides in enhancing their facilities as well. At the Sun City clinic, they unveiled an impressive 15,000 square feet expansion, bringing more specialties like ophthalmology, dermatology, and integrative medicine. Additionally, at the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Round Rock, a massive $220 million expansion is on the way. By 2025, residents can expect new emergency rooms, a neonatal intensive care unit, and extra operating suites. It’s all about providing comprehensive care when the community needs it most!
Not to be outdone, St. David’s has expanded its Georgetown facilities to include specialized cardiac care! This includes a new cardiovascular imaging center and a cardiac catheterization lab. With a recent launch of an outpatient imaging center equipped with ultrasound and echocardiogram facilities, access to cardiac care has never been better.
To top it all off, St. David’s has plans to transform its Leander emergency room into a full-service hospital by 2025—making it the area’s first full hospital! Exciting times ahead for healthcare in this vibrant city!
Just to highlight the amazing care you can expect, all St. David’s Healthcare hospitals in the Austin area, including Georgetown, received the coveted 2024 America’s 250 Best Hospitals Award from Healthgrades. This recognition is proof of their ongoing commitment to providing superior care across multiple specialties.
As Georgetown continues to grow, so does its ability to cater to its residents’ healthcare needs! With these expansions, residents can rest easy knowing that quality care is just around the corner.
