Discover Georgetown’s Charming History at the 2024 Home Tour

Get ready, Georgetown! The historic charm of our beloved town is set to come alive on December 14 and 15, 2024 with the much-anticipated Home Tour, brought to you by Preservation Georgetown. This is an event that not only showcases the beauty and character of our community but also stands as a significant fundraising effort to support local preservation initiatives.

A Look Inside Local Treasures

This year’s tour promises a unique combination of stunning homes nestled in the Historic District, celebrating both the past and present. For the first time ever, you’ll have the opportunity to explore First United Methodist Church, as it commemorates its remarkable 175th anniversary. This is your chance to step inside some of Georgetown’s most cherished buildings and witness how they have harmoniously blended vintage elegance with modern convenience.

Before You Go – Ticket Information

Don’t miss out on securing your spot! Discounted Early Bird tickets are available now through October 31. If you’re looking for a special experience, consider grabbing a Limited VIP ticket, which allows you to start the tour an hour earlier and includes a delightful brunch at the popular City Post Chophouse.

Shuttle tickets are also on sale for those who prefer a more leisurely way to travel between homes. If you’re part of a community organization looking to attend as a group, bulk ticket sales are available as well. It’s a fantastic way to experience this special event with friends or fellow community members!

Connecting with the Community

“This long-loved Georgetown tradition supports the Preservation Fund and is our largest fundraising endeavor of the year,” said Alton Martin, President of the Preservation Georgetown Board. It’s inspiring to see how these homes have managed to maintain their historic character while adapting to meet modern lifestyles and family needs. It’s a testament to the resilience and creativity of our Georgetown community.

The Home Tour not only contributes to the preservation of historic sites but also fosters a sense of community, as it invites residents and visitors alike to come together in appreciation of Georgetown’s rich heritage. This event is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the history that surrounds us, all while enjoying the beauty of our local architecture.
