Hey there, Georgetown! Get ready for an extraordinary event that promises to honor our past and present Veterans and First Responders. Mark your calendars, because the Field of Honor is rolling into town this month, and you won’t want to miss it!
From November 9 to November 17, the stunning San Gabriel Park will transform into a breathtaking tribute with a display of two thousand flags proudly waving in the wind. Can you imagine the sight? It’s going to be a majestic sight that truly honors those who serve our community!
The festivities kick off with a bang on Sunday, November 10, at 1:30 PM with a spectacular Opening Ceremony. This is just the beginning, as the celebrations continue into Veterans Day on Monday, November 11, with a meaningful ceremony starting at 11:00 AM. Come and join in as we pay tribute to those brave souls who’ve given so much.
Throughout the event, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, you can also explore various static displays that honor our heroes. Everything is free to attend, so bring your friends and family to soak in the experience together!
In a delightful twist, this year introduces an exciting new event: the O.P. Veteran VETFEST. On Saturday, November 9, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, this resource expo will feature information and support for veterans and first responders. It’s a fantastic opportunity to connect, learn, and perhaps even make a new friend.
And if you’re feeling extra generous this holiday season, don’t forget about the Toy Drive benefiting Blue Santa! Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there to collect new, unwrapped toys and gift cards. What a lovely way to spread some holiday cheer to kiddos in need!
Now, while many activities are free, there are also a couple of amazing ticketed events worth noting. The Central Texas Philharmonic Patriotic POPS Concert will light up the stage at the Klett Performing Arts Theater on Saturday, November 9, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. And guess what? Veterans and first responders get in free! It’s a wonderful way to appreciate our local music scene while honoring our heroes.
Additionally, swing by for the Patriots Celebration BBQ and Dance on November 16, from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Get your groove on with the fabulous RENAGADES band and witness the presentation of the coveted Patriot of the Year award!
