Georgetown’s Industrial Boom: New 412,470-Square-Foot Facility Unveiled at GTX Logistics Park

Georgetown on the Rise: Big Plans for New Industrial Space

The charming city of Georgetown, just north of Austin, is buzzing with excitement as it heads toward a promising future in manufacturing and industrial space. Philadelphia-based EQT Exeter has recently broken ground on a massive 412,470-square-foot industrial building at the GTX Logistics Park. This new facility is set to be ready for move-in next summer, making it a highly anticipated addition to the area.

Big Dreams, Bigger Buildings

Located at 600 Farm to Market Road 972, this state-of-the-art industrial building is no small feat. With impressive 36-foot clear heights, the layout is designed to accommodate modern business needs. EQT Exeter has made a significant investment, purchasing 24.5 acres of land last summer, which includes an adjacent building that already houses a supplier for Tesla, a major player in the auto industry.

While it’s just the beginning, the GTX Logistics Park promises to offer an impressive total of 3 million square feet of industrial space. The excitement doesn’t stop there; the new building will come fully equipped with essential features like 2,500 square feet of office space, LED lighting, dock equipment, and plenty of power and insulation, making it truly “move-in ready” for new tenants.

New Opportunities on the Horizon

EQT Exeter has its eyes set on both newcomers in the Austin area looking for the perfect spot to grow and those already established who may need to consolidate their operations. Sounds like a win-win situation for everyone involved!

Joining EQT in this exciting venture are several talented local design and construction firms, including Roanoke-based RGA Architects and Austin-based CADRE Construction. It’s great to see teamwork across cities contributing to the growth of the Austin metropolitan region!

Why Georgetown?

Georgetown has gained a reputation for being fast-paced and forward-thinking. For three consecutive years, it has been recognized as the fastest-growing city of its size in Texas, boasting a population nearing 100,000 people. This growth is largely fueled by the booming manufacturing scene, thanks to companies like Tesla setting up shop in eastern Travis County and Samsung Electronics in Taylor. The influx of new businesses has turned Georgetown into a major manufacturing hub.

In recent years, a slew of companies like TSS Inc., GAF Energy LLC, and others have made Georgetown their home, increasing job opportunities and enhancing the local economy.

A Growing Portfolio

This new construction is just part of EQT Exeter’s plans to capture the Austin area’s expanding market. In the past year, the company has expanded its local portfolio from 1.5 million square feet to 4 million square feet. When combining this with its holdings in San Antonio, the total comes to an impressive 7 million square feet under management!

Recent acquisitions by EQT include a 218,400-square-foot building in Mustang Ridge, which is home to Tesla supplier Xinquan Automotive Trim Ltd., as well as a 450,000-square-foot building in Georgetown occupied by GAF Energy, a solar parts manufacturer. The continuous growth signals not just a bright future for Georgetown and the Austin area but also highlights the escalating demand for industrial space.

Looking Ahead

With a wave of new companies moving in and exciting developments on the way, Georgetown is truly a city to watch. The future of the Austin metropolitan area looks promising, and it’s hard not to feel the pulse of opportunity in every corner of Georgetown.

So, whether you’re a budding entrepreneur, a business owner seeking growth, or just someone who loves to see a community flourish, Georgetown’s growth story is one we can all get behind. The heart of Texas is indeed beating a little stronger!
