GEORGETOWN, TEXAS – The Georgetown Independent School District (GISD) has officially announced Dr. Jennifer Hinson as the new principal of Everette L. Williams Elementary School for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. With a wealth of experience in educational leadership, Dr. Hinson’s appointment marks an exciting chapter for both the school and the district.
Dr. Hinson comes to Georgetown from Prosper Independent School District (ISD), where she has served as principal since 2019. During her tenure at Prosper ISD, she worked closely with educators to develop effective unit plans that meet the state’s educational standards. In addition, she has mentored aspiring leaders within the education sector, showcasing her commitment to fostering growth among her colleagues.
Before her time in Prosper ISD, Dr. Hinson held various positions, including school improvement specialist and principal at Chesterfield County Public Schools in Virginia. Additionally, she served as a program specialist for Dothan City Schools in Alabama. Dr. Hinson began her career in education as a classroom teacher in 2002, fulfilling that role for 11 years.
Dr. Hinson earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Chaminade University. She further enhanced her qualifications with a master’s degree in education leadership and human development from George Washington University, followed by a doctorate in educational administration.
As the new principal, Dr. Hinson aims to lead a transformation at Everette L. Williams Elementary School, focusing on creating a learning organization that aligns with the beliefs and mission of GISD. She intends to implement systems and processes that support the school’s goals and enhance the overall educational experience for students.
One of her primary objectives is to ensure that actions and behaviors at the school reinforce GISD’s mission. Dr. Hinson aims to foster an environment where students are engaged and empowered, ultimately leading them toward success in both their academic pursuits and personal growth.
Dr. Hinson emphasizes the importance of building relationships within the school community. She looks forward to collaborating with teachers, staff, parents, and students at Everette L. Williams Elementary. Her focus is on creating an inclusive atmosphere that encourages learning and growth for everyone involved.
Dr. Hinson will be relocating to central Texas from Frisco. She will move with her husband, Matt Hinson. Their son, Cody, resides in Nashville, Tennessee, with his wife Corina and works as a Brentwood police officer. Their younger son, Caleb, recently graduated from Prosper High School and plans to attend Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville this fall, where he will pursue a degree in computer science while competing in cross country and track.
Dr. Jennifer Hinson is set to officially assume her role as principal this summer, ready to take on the challenges and opportunities that await her at Everette L. Williams Elementary School.
