Washington D.C. is buzzing with excitement as the Georgetown University softball team recently announced its highly anticipated spring schedule for the 2025 season! Starting from February 7 and running through May 4, fans can look forward to a thrilling season filled with a total of 49 games. Get ready for a fun ride!
The action begins with a big splash as Georgetown heads to Charleston Southern University for its season opener from February 7-9. Mark your calendars because the Hoyas will be in intense competition, playing five games over just three days. They’ll face Bellarmine and Siena on February 7, followed by another challenging day against Bellarmine and Charleston Southern on February 8. To wrap up the weekend, they’ll take on Siena once more on February 9. It’s going to be a weekend of hard-hitting action!
After Charleston, the team will jump on a bus and head to Greensboro, North Carolina from February 14-16 for another five games. The lineup includes matchups against Toledo and UNC Greensboro on February 14, followed by another round with UNC Greensboro and Merrimack on February 15. They’ll close out their Greensboro adventure with a rematch against Merrimack on February 16. Talk about action-packed!
Next up, the Hoyas will head to Chapel Hill, North Carolina for another series of matches from February 21-23. The first day will see them taking on Queens and West Georgia. Then, the excitement continues on February 22 with games against UNC and Wagner College. They’ll wrap up the weekend with a final game against Queens on February 23. Can they make a splash in Chapel Hill?
Don’t take a breath yet! The team will then participate in a round-robin tournament in Lynchburg, Virginia from February 28 to March 2. They’ll face off against Drexel and Liberty on February 28, followed by two games against Drexel and Lehigh on March 1. They’ll finish strong against Appalachian State on March 2. That’s right, more opportunities for some thrilling softball!
After all that travel, the team will be excited to host their home opener on March 5 against Holy Cross at their home field in the Nationals Youth Baseball Academy, right in the heart of Washington D.C. It’s time to cheer them on at home!
The Hoyas will then dive into BIG EAST play, starting with a road series against Seton Hall from March 7-9. The series against St. John’s University will follow from March 14-16 and will definitely be one to watch. After that, the team will return home to face Harvard on March 18.
Georgetown will host Villanova for their first BIG EAST series from March 21-23. Then, they’ll take their game on the road to Indianapolis to tango with Butler from March 28-30. The excitement continues back at home with a series against Creighton from April 4-6.
As the season heats up, a midweek game against George Mason is set for April 9, followed by a home game against Towson on April 15. The team will then host Providence from April 16-17 before wrapping things up with a midweek match against George Washington University on April 22. The regular season will conclude with a big series against UConn from April 25-27, leading right into the final series against DePaul from May 2-4, where they’ll also celebrate senior day on May 3. It’s an ending to remember!
