Exciting news for residents of Georgetown! The cozy city of about 90,000 residents is set to get its third H-E-B grocery store, bringing even more convenience to the community. On September 10, H-E-B LP announced the start of construction for this new store, which is expected to open its doors next summer. Let’s take a closer look at what this means for locals and how it’ll fit into the Georgetown landscape.
The new store will be located at the bustling intersection of Ronald Reagan Boulevard and Ranch Road 2338. This site was chosen with care to ensure it complements the vibrant Parmer Ranch development.
For those living in neighborhoods nearby, like the sprawling Sun City, this new shopping option will be just a quick 10-minute drive away. Many Georgetown residents will surely appreciate having another great grocery option on their doorstep!
According to Heidi Anderson, the senior director of public affairs for H-E-B, “We’re proud to have served the Georgetown community for over 55 years and look forward to continuing to bring our customers the very best that H-E-B has to offer.” This dedication speaks volumes about H-E-B’s commitment to the city and its residents.
The new store will be a substantial 112,000 square feet, which is par for the course for H-E-B’s newer builds that generally exceed 100,000 square feet. This means shoppers can look forward to a wide variety of products, including local goods and fresh produce, just like they’ve come to expect from H-E-B.
But that’s not all! This new grocery store will also include a fuel station and a car wash, offering even more convenience for busy shoppers. The planned store will be an anchor for the Parmer Ranch Marketplace, a new 31-acre shopping center that promises to feature two retail buildings totaling 40,000 square feet, as well as five additional pad sites for lease or purchase. That sounds like an exciting place to shop and hang out!
Georgetown has been on a remarkable growth trajectory, boasting a 29% increase in population since 2020. In fact, it was named the fastest-growing city in the nation last year, with an impressive 14.4% gain from 2021 to 2022. This new store will likely serve many residents, including those in nearby Florence, where the closest H-E-B is about 20 miles away.
H-E-B is not just a community favorite; it’s also a major employer in the area. With more than 24,000 employees in the Austin metro, H-E-B has outpaced electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla by about 4,000 jobs as of this past July. This new location will undoubtedly contribute to the local economy, providing job opportunities and drawing in shoppers from surrounding areas.
The addition of this third H-E-B not only shows the grocery giant’s unwavering support for Georgetown but also reflects the city’s dynamic growth and evolving needs. The upcoming Parmer Ranch Marketplace is poised to become a local hub, blending shopping, convenience, and community in a vibrant atmosphere.
As construction progresses over the coming months, residents will be eagerly watching to see how this new grocery store will enhance their shopping experience. With more options just around the corner, it’s an exciting time to be a part of Georgetown!
