Hey there, art enthusiasts! If you’re in Georgetown this November, you’re in for a real treat. The Williamson County Art Guild (WCAG) is rolling out a fabulous lineup of exhibits and events that celebrate the incredible creativity of our local artists. Get ready to immerse yourself in the vibrant art scene as we take a closer look at what’s happening this month!
Kick-start your month on Friday, November 1, from 5 to 8 p.m. at 708 S. Rock Street. This is where WCAG hosts its much-anticipated November art opening. It’s the perfect chance to explore an array of stunning new artwork, chat with the talented artists, and sip on some delicious wine and refreshments. Each month, visitors can marvel at the works of 27 permanent local artists, including a brand new exhibit showcased in the front salon. It’s a wonderful opportunity to get involved and mingle with the vibrant arts community right in our own backyard!
From October 30 to November 28, don’t miss out on the Framer’s Gallery located at 610 S. Main Street, where you can enjoy the colorful and eclectic exhibit titled “Symbols, Marks and Signs.” This showcase features artwork that’s 12 inches or smaller, offering a charming variety of expressive pieces that are perfect for those who appreciate art in a smaller format.
Let’s not forget about the Palace Theater at 216 W. 8th Street, where they seamlessly blend local WCAG art exhibits with their current productions. It’s a neat way to enjoy both visual and performing arts in one setting! Be sure to check out their schedule for the latest themes and shows to find something that piques your interest.
Looking for a burst of natural beauty? From November 7 to December 5, make your way over to Truewood Gallery at 4907 Williams Drive to catch Patrick O’Brien’s solo exhibit titled “Nature’s Florals.” His artwork beautifully celebrates the colors and forms found in nature, making it a must-see for anyone who loves the outdoors and the mesmerizing art inspired by it.
Another fantastic exhibit happening this month can be found at Mesquite Creek Outfitters from November 4 to December 2. Local artist and WCAG President Lynn Kessel will showcase her stunning collection of acrylic works, characterized by her unique style of “Vibrant Impressionism.” If you’re drawn to bright colors and dynamic expressions, then this exhibit is sure to light up your day!
Join the WCAG for their monthly meeting on November 5 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Georgetown Public Library. This month, the guest speaker will be Natalie Murry, a former police officer turned forensic artist. She’ll be sharing some fascinating insights about her career in forensic art, demonstrating modern digital techniques, and 2D reconstruction. If you’ve ever been curious about art that goes beyond the traditional canvas, this is an intriguing event not to be missed!
So whether you’re a seasoned art collector, an art enthusiast, or simply looking for something new and unique to enjoy this November, these events are a fantastic way to support and celebrate the local talent right here in Georgetown. Don’t forget to check out the member challenge theme of “Homage to a Famous Artist” as well, and see how local artists interpret this theme through their unique lenses.
