Round Rock Launches Operation Front Porch to Combat Holiday Package Theft

Round Rock, Texas: Keep Your Holiday Packages Safe with Operation Front Porch!

It’s that wonderful time of year again! The holidays are just around the corner, and here in *Round Rock*, we know that means one thing—lots and lots of packages! Whether it’s gifts for family, friends, or even a little something special for yourself, the flood of deliveries can also bring about a common concern: holiday package theft. But worry not, residents of Round Rock! Operation Front Porch is returning this year to help keep your precious packages safe and sound.

What is Operation Front Porch?

Operation Front Porch is a fantastic initiative brought to you by the Round Rock Police Department. This annual program lets you send your holiday packages directly to the police department, ensuring a secure drop-off point where your items will be kept safe from grubby hands. Who wouldn’t appreciate that extra layer of protection during the busy holiday season?

How Does It Work?

Simple! From November 12 to December 20, residents can ship their packages right to the Round Rock Police Department. Here’s the address you will need to use:

[Your Name]
Round Rock Police Department
2701 North Mays Street
Round Rock, TX 78665

It’s as easy as pie! Just make sure that packages are addressed properly and follow all the rules to ensure a smooth pickup process.

When Can You Pick Up Your Packages?

Picking up your packaged goodies is a breeze! You can stop by at the police department and collect your shipments. However, here are a couple of quick notes to keep in mind:

  • No pickups are available on Sundays.
  • There will also be a brief hiatus for pickups from November 28 to December 1 due to the Thanksgiving holiday. So, plan accordingly!

Good news, though! If you play your cards right, you have plenty of time to collect your packages. Just make sure to grab them within three days of their arrival. The last day you can pick up your packages will be Friday, December 20—mark that on your calendar!

Requirements to Pick Up

Now, a few more important details to keep in mind. In order to pick up your packages from Operation Front Porch, you will need to fulfill the following requirements:

  • You must be a current resident of Round Rock.
  • Packages can’t weigh over 50 lbs.
  • Your pick-up ID’s name must match the name on the mailing label of the package. No sneaking in for your neighbor, people!

Best Part? It’s Completely Free!

The cherry on top? Operation Front Porch is provided at no cost to residents. It’s a fantastic service aimed at keeping our holiday spirits high and our packages protected. You can shop and send gifts knowing they are safe until you’re ready to collect them!

In Conclusion

This holiday season, don’t let package theft dampen your festivities. Take advantage of Operation Front Porch and keep your deliveries safe. With just a few simple steps, you can ensure that your holiday cheer stays intact and that those gifts arrive snug and secure. Wishing you all a delightful holiday season filled with joy, laughter, and, of course, perfectly protected packages!
