The Thunderbirds flew high against their rival, the Georgetown Eagles, in a nail-biting overtime showdown, winning 67-63.
The semifinal showdown took place in front of an enthusiastic crowd at the Alamodome, where both teams clashed to secure a coveted spot in the championship. Leading up to this intense game, the Thunderbirds reached the semifinals by defeating district rivals, the Comal Pieper Warriors, with a solid score of 54-42. The stars of that earlier match were LA Sneed, who netted an impressive 22 points, and A’Rielle Williams, contributing 19 points to their victorious journey.
The Eagles, with a strong record of 33-4, came roaring into the semifinals by overcoming the Hendrickson Lady Hawks with a 61-53 victory. Key players for the Eagles, Cassady Lee and Chasidy Lee, showcased remarkable performances, making this a competitive matchup.
